What is the best underwater digital camera to buy that doesn’t need an underwater housing?
I was in Mexico last week and while snorkeling I saw guy with a tiny digital camera (without housing). It was very small and skinny (like the Sony T10). Does any know which camera this could be? I loved it because it doesn’t require a separate housing! Thanks!
it’s likely it’s a recent Olympus model: the Stylus 770 SW, announced in January ‘07 (for availability “in March”).
This is a 7.1mp camera, with a ho-hum 3x zoom starting at 38mm, and 0.8in thick. Nothing special except that:
- it is waterproof to 10 meters (30ft)
- it is shockproof for falls from up to 1.5 metres (5ft)
- it is crush proof for loads of up to 100 kilos (220 pounds)
